Where and when do you meet?

How do I officially join the club?

How is Running Club adjusting to COVID-19?
Last year UCI Club Sports did not allow in person practice, however as of Fall 2021 we are back in-person! 
There is no mask requirement during practice as our practices are outdoors, however you are allowed to wear one if you so choose. NOTE: Please be sure to fill out your daily symptom check with accordance with the school. If you are experiencing any symptoms please stay home.


Do I have to be a fast runner to join the club?
No! We have runners at all speeds and fitness levels. We welcome all skill levels from beginners who want to get in shape, to those training for races such as 5Ks, half marathons, and marathons.

What races do you compete in?
We compete in the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA) races. You can find out more on their website: https://clubrunning.org/. We also do local races and All Comers Track Meets!
 
What if I want to train competitively for races like 5Ks, half marathons, marathons, etc?
We highly recommend joining the club if you are training for these races! Currently we have many runners who are preparing for races, so you will definitely find someone who is at the same speed that you are at.
 
Will anyone run with me if I am slow?
Yes, of course! You will never be left behind (promise!). We always make sure that everyone knows where they are going and has someone at a similar speed running with them. You are never too slow to join, so don't be afraid!

Do I have to run the whole time?
No! Just do your best. It's ok to walk if you need to!

How much do you run in each practice?
Between 3-6 miles depending on the route. 

Where do you run?
We have a variety of different trails and roads that we run on around the UCI campus.

Do I have to commit to a certain number of practices per week?
No. There is no time commitment involved, come out to join us when you can! Just make sure to pay your dues and sign up officially through Club Sports so that we know you are a member.

When can I join?
You can join anytime you want, even in the middle of the quarter! Just come out to one of our practices.

What other events do you host?
We have many social events where you can bond with fellow Running Club members outside of practice such as quarterly hikes, fundraisers, bonfires, retreats, the annual UCI Club Sports banquet, and more! Visit our photo gallery to look through some of the events that we have hosted.
